As the Board of Education prepares for Tuesday’s meeting to decide on plans for third quarter, students reflect on what they’ve been missing this first semester after spending so many days outside the building.

“I miss hanging out and talking with my friends at the lockers and walking to class with friends. I just miss the companionship that school offered.” – sophomore Charlotte Ernst

“I miss being around friends and teachers. It’s easier to learn face-to-face for most kids including me. In face-to-face learning, I have my friends and my teachers to help me if I need it.” – sophomore Reagan Riddick

“I miss being able to communicate with my teachers and peers around me, especially when I need help or have a question about an assignment. Seeing everyone was definitely my favorite part about school.” –sophomore Colin Tran

“I miss the interaction with other people. I miss talking to my teachers and being able to do group projects, especially because it’s my senior year, I feel like I’m missing out.” – senior Emma Hartnett

“I miss being in the school building, seeing my friends every day, and I especially miss the way face-to-face is taught because I learn better when I’m face-to-face rather than virtual.” – senior Harper Weeks

“I miss making new friends in all my classes and I miss seeing my favorite seniors.” – sophomore Brigid Preisser
