• Nighthawk News Magazine is a member of the  North Carolina Scholastic Media Association, the Columbia Scholastic and National Scholastic press associations, and the Southern Interscholastic Press Association. Nighthawk News Magazine is an 11-time recipient of the Tar Heel Award from NCSMA and a two-time winner of the Silver Crown from CSPA. The publication was also an NSPA Pacemaker Finalist for 2008, 2010 and 2016. NighthawkNews.com was a Tar Heel winner in 2012 and 2014.
• The Nighthawk News Magazine staff strives to provide informative and accurate coverage of individuals and events within the school and the Dare County community. Our opinion pages serve as a forum for the voices of the newspaper, its staff members and the community it serves.
• Views expressed by Nighthawk News Magazine do not represent the opinions of the faculty or administration, the Dare County School Board or its administration. Unsigned commentaries represent the views of Nighthawk News staff, while signed commentaries and columns are the opinion of the authors.
